How do I get the green off the inside of my metal bangle bracelet?
I'm not sure what type of metal it is....probably steel or nickel or something. The outside is a textured yellow gold-tone. Anyway, it is my favorite cuff bracelet but it is now turning my wrist green and the inside of it is grossly green! How do I get it off and prevent it from happening again?
Ah! This is quite common with costume jewellery.
A quick solution, is to clean the inside of it.. try any alcohol based cleaning product.. methylated spirits or turpentine. Or even a silver polishing cloth (most jewellers sell these for around $10 here). Then grab some clear nail polish and paint the inside of your bracelet. You'll probably find you need to keep painting the inside of it as the polish wears though.
Also, you could probably take it to any manufacturing jeweller and enquire about getting your bracelet silver plated. It could get pricey though.
